Do we need to cut our deficit, yes, no doubt about it – The question is what to cut. Should we make these cuts on the backs of the middle class and poor, or should the cuts come on the backs of the wealthy? Many believe the wealthy should pay more. The Republicans argue the wealthy should not be touched. Democratic politicians argue Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security should not be touched instead, make all cuts on the backs of the wealthy and defense spending. The truth is however, everything should be touched as would be the case in “real life”. With the wealthy consisting of less than one-percent of the overall population, how can this even be a sticking point. Isn’t the whole essence of democracy a voting issue, a majority and minority issue? Well if this wasn’t about politics and more about reality, this wouldn’t be an issue at all. There is no one in their honest and right mind that would vote to give the wealthy additional tax-breaks, unless of course they are wealthy. But in a democracy, they would lose the vote. POLITICS, plain and simple!
The people should demand a straight up and down vote on whether people making over $250K, and Corporations, should have the “loopholes” closed and in essence a tax-hike. Everyone is so afraid to say the word tax-hike. The wealthy and the Corporations are holding the country hostage to their not receiving a “tax-hike”. They should be called out, and anyone supporting the tax-breaks and the loopholes for Corporations should be called out too – LOUD AND CLEAR!
